AND THIS IS THE FIRST POST IN SEPTEMBER!!!
And the subject of this post makes me very happy, for various reasons.*
Supercilious is the most amazing word for this week's challenge. :)
So, I've hyperextended my Achilles tendon. Yes, it's very fun to say. But the crutches and pain associated with the phrase, is not fun.
Achilles was that Greek guy, right? Yeah, and the name of the tendon in your heel is named for his story. And no, he's not the dude with winged shoes or wings on his ankles. That's Hermes. (I do like Hermes better, you know.**) Achilles' mother (I think? You know, mythology. There's a different version for everything.) dipped him in the river Styx to become invincible. Styx, if you didn't know, is in the underworld. (cue the DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN) So, to keep Achilles from dying, his mother held onto him by his heel. (Ah, or ankle, but in that general area.) And, since it didn't get dipped into the river, that was his one weakness, and eventually brought his demise. Yes, what's that phrase? Mortal weakness or something of that nature? YES.
Yes, so now that I've shown off my Percy Jackson and random knowledge***, let me say, that I did get Mockingjay. I'm reading it as I type right now....:D It makes me happy!! (And sad, but I'm not going to get into that.)
I will say that Haymitch is my favorite. (My favorite what? Just my favorite) I was wondering if he fit this weeks challenge. But then I decided that, no, I just like him and his sharp, insulting sarcasm. (maybe that's because it reminds me too much of people I know :P)
but deep down, he actually cares.:)
Ah, I think this post qualifies as a rant, because I was generally bored and decided to blog.
It sounds a lot like some of my conversations recently. I think it almost qualifies as a Reid moment****.
~P. Megz OUT!!!
*It's another of Haymitch's cutting sarcastic remarks of course. It's very general, but, I love it. :D
**Hermes was the messenger of the gods. But did you know he was also the god of thieves?
***Did you know that Saint Nicholas (yes, also known as Santa Claus) is the patron saint of thieves? WHAT? yeah, I know. It's cool.
****Yes, Reid from Criminal minds. And yes, all these footnotes definitely qualify as Reid moments.
